Welcome!
Rice Canyon Elementary is located in the rolling hills above Lake Elsinore in the heart of a suburban neighborhood of tree-lined streets and framed by striking mountains. One might imagine our mascot, the Raptor, wandering the terrain surrounding our school. The raptor’s pack hunting technique of forming an equilateral triangle around their prey is symbolic of that same triangle formed by teachers, staff, and community that surrounds each student here at Rice Canyon. Though small and somewhat powerless when standing alone, raptors are fierce and powerful when working as a pack. Like the raptors, Rice Canyon actively utilizes the Professional Learning Community model to come together and aggressively hunt out every opportunity to encourage successful learning for each and every student within our diverse population. Our school opened in 2001 and presently serves nearly 900 students in grades K-5. There is a constant flow of children coming and going before and after school to participate in the various remediation and enrichment programs offered by our dedicated staff and community.
