Dear Raptor Families,
I'd like to be the first one to welcome you back to Rice Canyon Elementary and the 2022-2023 school year! I hope all of our Raptor families enjoyed a much deserved restful and fun summer.
Although It has been an extraordinarily difficult two years with exceptional challenges, we endured it together. I am so proud of how our RCE students kept working, kept learning, and kept ROARing! Throughout it all, the RCE community maintained its culture of high expectations. The grit and determination of RCE staff, students, and their families is truly inspiring.
This year we all look forward to getting back to the business of focusing on teaching, learning, and enjoying school and each other live and in-person! I fully expect that we will return to "normal" in and out of the classroom, including offering great extracurricular choices such as choir, running club, drill team, and Art Stars! Additionally, we look forward to providing dynamic collaborative and personalized learning opportunities. We have added AVID, a learning initiative that promotes college and career readiness, and will continue to have a laser focus on high academic standards achievement for all of our students. In addition, social emotional learning and digital citizenship will be of high importance in our daily work.
My door is always open to students and parents. Please feel free to come by with any of your questions or concerns. I'm anticipating a wonderful year and I look forward to seeing you soon!
